Eco-friendly Fruit Growing Practices

The fruit that we bring just for you to the Vineyard Farmers Market, has been grown with the environment and you in mind. We have eco-friendly growing practices to reduce our carbon footprint. Included in this is the reduction of discing with non-till farming and the reduction of particulate matter with the chipping of old trees instead of burning. We have developed a dust control program that is registered with the State of California to minimize our impact on the air quality.

To reduce the use of pesticides, we us pheromones to inhibit the reproduction of pests and practice Integrated Pest Management (IPM) which is monitored by an IPM professional. Our dependence on commercial fertilizer is being lessened with the increased use of compost. Our certified organic apples demonstrate our commitment to a healthy future.

We will continue to work hard to lessen our impact on the environment that we all share. We are installing more drip irrigation to reduce our water needs, analyze more soil samples so that we only apply the nutrients the tree needs and grow the best tasting fruit, just for you!
